How can Europe secure gas and LNG supply that remains secure, compliant and investable as geopolitics and regulation reshape the market? This was the focus of the Europe Energy Week Leadership Roundtable at Gastech in Bangkok on 16 September 2026, where senior decision-makers examined Europe’s security of supply against low storage levels, global LNG uncertainty and increasing competition for long-term volumes. The discussion explored the evolving role of long-term contracts, including pricing, flexibility, infrastructure, emissions and methane requirements, and how risk can be more effectively shared between buyers and sellers.  Europe’s Next Gas Deal: The Conversation Starts Here

On 16 September 2026 at Gastech in Bangkok, Europe Energy Week convened a closed-door Leadership Roundtable examining how Europe can secure reliable, competitive and investable gas and LNG supply.

With European storage levels heading into winter, uncertainty across global LNG markets and increasing competition for long-term volumes, senior decision-makers examined the structural challenges facing Europe’s gas supply portfolio.

A central focus was the growing complexity of long-term gas contracting. Participants explored how buyers and sellers can balance security of supply with changing demand, pricing, flexibility, infrastructure requirements and evolving emissions and methane regulations.

The discussion also considered how Europe can strengthen resilience through diversified supply portfolios, strategic storage, infrastructure and more balanced risk-sharing, while maintaining affordability and industrial competitiveness.

The roundtable highlighted that Europe’s next gas deal is not simply about securing volumes, but about creating the commercial and regulatory conditions needed to keep supply secure, competitive and investable through the energy transition.
