Hannover, Germany – 22 April 2026 – Europe Energy Week will make its public debut at Hannover Messe, with two key moments taking place on the Center Stage in Hall 25 during Next-Gen Energy: the official launch of the event, followed by a high-level panel on energy resilience and industrial competitiveness.
Developed through a strategic partnership between dmg events and Deutsche Messe AG, Europe Energy Week is a new exhibition and conference set to take place in Hannover from 5–8 April 2027, co-located with Hannover Messe.
Positioned as a response to one of the most critical challenges facing Europe’s economy, the event is designed to align energy systems and supply with industrial demand, infrastructure and long-term economic growth.
Official Launch
The official launch will take place from 10:00 to 10:15 on 22 April 2026, and will be marked by keynote addresses from Dr. Jochen Köckler, Chairman of the Managing Board at Deutsche Messe AG, and Christopher Hudson, President of dmg events, with moderation by Sven Krause.
Featured Panel: Energy Resilience and Industrial Competitiveness
Following the official launch, the conversation continues with a high-level panel from 12:00 to 12:45, titled:
“Energy Resilience: Enabling Industrial Competitiveness in a High-Demand, High-Tech Future”
Moderated by Dr. Melinda Crane, the session will bring together senior industry leaders, including:
- Stefan Mecha, CEO, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles
- Stéphane Michel, President, Gas, Renewables & Power, TotalEnergies
- ND Maduemezia, President Europe & Africa, SLB
The discussion will address the growing pressures on Europe’s energy systems, as industrial sectors accelerate electrification, digital integration and advanced manufacturing.
With energy costs in Europe remaining structurally higher than in other global markets, and grid infrastructure facing increasing strain from demand driven by AI, data centres and industrial electrification, the panel will explore how supply, infrastructure and capital can be aligned to support industrial growth at scale.
At the same time, speakers will highlight the opportunities presented by increased investment in renewables, storage and grid modernisation, alongside evolving policy frameworks and diversified energy supply.
As Europe navigates a period of transformation, Europe Energy Week is positioned to play a central role in advancing the alignment between energy systems and industrial demand, supporting the transition from strategy to delivery.
